LP-3 Low Air Pressure Indicator Switch - Single Terminal.
 Back to: Switches

This is a safety device intended to give an automatic audible or visible warning to the driver if air pressure falls under the safe minimum in the air brake system.
The LP-3 indicator consists of a spring-loaded o-ring diaphragm and piston; a die-cast body, and a nylon cover.
The electrical contacts of these indicators remain closed by spring force until the air brake system pressure under the diaphragm surpasses the setting of the low-pressure indicator spring. The nominal pressure setting of the indicator is 60 PSI; however, pressure settings may vary depending upon the vehicle. When air pressure at the supply port and under the diaphragm increases over 60 psi, the electrical contacts remain open because the force applied by air pressure below the diaphragm surpasses the force exerted by the spring above the diaphragm.
If air pressure under the diaphragm falls under 60 psi the spring applies a force superior to the one exerted under the diaphragm. This causes the movement of the diaphragm and the piston which closes the electrical contacts completing the electrical circuit and warning the driver from low air pressure in the system. .

Comes with Safety Cap to Protect the Threads and Mechanism prior Installation.
